Today I had the second call from the 24 Hour Locksmith emergency locksmith East London I've had in three weeks to cut a 'Tigris' key. For a sliding door lock
Broken bolt talon? Broken Cam? Back of plug damaged and missing cam? I’ve watched this video and played over and over with various wires but i have no idea what is going on? Maybe someone on here can shed some light. Note: he is using a 3k74 with closed lever pack not the open ended version the only thing I can think of is like the fortress tool, but in this case feeding the wire into the void of the lever pack and overlifting from inside the pack. I've tried and tried there’s no room for any such manipulation through the middle of the levers, chubb locks are too well made there’s no gaps! Reckon it’s a doctored lock? Speaking to a chubb safe engineer I’ve heard there is a tool for lifting all the high lifts above the sheer line and then you just tickle the lows into place and drop the highs afterwards, but it’s not a tool they are allowed to bring home to show me maybe the fact he’s using a plexi case leaves enough room round the front to get a wire in but it certainly doesn’t with the case screwed on. Looks to be using normal L shape pick wire with just a normal flat head screwdriver the size of an small electrical screwdriver, you can just see the bottom of the levers moving then bang its open.
My view is anyone who puts this type of video on is a cock. Why show lock opening (particularly with a clear plastic cover so only he can see what he is doing) As we all know locks are easily opened when you can see what you are trying to manipulate. I would be more impressed if t boys at the 24 Hour Locksmith emergency locksmith East London did it with a sealed lock cover (after showing what was behind the cover. I think Rick is right don't buy until you see it working. This is a little like the Era Fortress tool.....that never really worked and best of all was only for left mounted locks!! Soon to be money making spinner perhaps, like the fortress 'tool'?? Trust me, enough naive locksmiths will buy into it. If anyone is interested I will show you exactly what is going on at the Feb 11 members meet this weekend.
You are also correct about the cover as this does allow a fraction more movement/compression of the lever pack within the key lock case. I don't know if the guy who makes the tool is on here, but if you are take the comments as they are, just honest opinions and questions. If it works for you, then hey, that's what it's all about? I've been messing around with this for a couple of days now, and still not 100%? It is possible to get a thin wire up into the lever gating under the top fences. There is only one place to get the wire into the lever pack, and it's small and tight! The first problem is how tight the wire becomes when applying some tension onto the bolt in the barrel lock by turning the curtain, making it hard to lift the levers. Trying to get it in the right place is a job in itself.
