Locksmith Battersea have got to remove two ABS cylinders, (I can't pick these buggers) I do have access to the building so I can remove handles. Just would appreciate the best way to remove them never had cause to before. if you can get access to the inside and remove handles, if you snap the inner half does it still lock the cam up like it would if you snapped the outside?
Had a bit of a day with this job, client said they had keys for the side door, not to be! Had to gain entry. Had to get through three 3 Yale Euro's Two Magnum Millenco's and relief when I found the keys for the ABS's. And one smashed up Fhur gearbox. Police there all day with me, one hell of a day to say the least. Does anyone know of any re-pinning kits that are available that cover a fairly wide range of locks and pin types? I'd like to start re-pinning a number of locks: Sterling night latch cylinder (got 10 of these) Securefast 5 pin Euro cylinder Era 6 pin Euro cylinder. I'm not really sure how the pins vary in these - maybe slight differences in total pin length, diameter, balanced/unbalanced stacks, security pins? Is there a relatively cheap kit of pins that would cover a fairly wide range of locks?
I'm maybe not worried if they correspond to normal cut levels, as long as it allows me to build up new locks to pick. I've not found a supplier outside of SKS and the like who only supply trading locksmiths. I'd just dismantle what you've got, and randomly re-pin those. But as the SKS one is good. I've got that and it is a very useful/impressive bit of kit. A quick tip don't bother with the HPC Repining tweezers! Mad Oh, and another 'tip'. A single AAA Cell Maglight works great as an illuminated plug follower. A repining shoe is also good for Euros, but you can make one easily enough. Thanks for the pointers locksmith Battersea. I guess I have a lot of pins anyway from the locks I have. Do any of the cheaper rim cylinders have security pins in them, and then I could just grab a few of them. It's odd how it's so hard to get hold of pinning kits. Had problems picking these locks (yale euro kite mark locks) my experience was: one on back door and front door, tried picking, bumping, pulling hair out but still no Joy. I don't stock them so not had chance to play with them in the workshop. I was just wondering if anyone else struggling to pick/open these.
I will order a few and have a play. As advertised/for info. This Yale Kite marked double euro profile cylinders are high security replacement euro profile cylinder. They have antidrill, anti-pick and bump resistant features with hardened pins and ball bearings to protect the lock and they offer over 100,000 combinations. They also now seem to be the council choice when upgrading. It's possible that Yale BS use the zero lift pin to prevent bumping and pick guns, It would probably have to be spp'd. Don't think there anti snap so could be another option? The rim ones on pbs1/2 with the cylinder pull security are a right nightmare to get tension onto the bolt and lock up with the epg, well that's what we think at the locksmith Battersea workshop. |
