Same here at the locksmith Brixton Hill shop and with these it only needs a small 6mm hole drilled so no real big drama I reckon you are right with your ID. Had one of these mortice locks from a job passed on to me a couple of months ago.
Used the E3 Pin & Pick and took about an hour. Also had one prior to this that I couldn't get decent feed back from. Gave up after about an hour and half then customer found the door key! I can't justify the cost of individual picks with limited success rates anyway, like I said I just don't see any of these to justify the spend or hours. I'd rather be practicing picking the locks I see on a regular basis and spend the money on picks & decoders for them. I'll get back to the customer and explain the option of drilling but have also remembered seeing a service hatch behind a microwave, if I can get to the inside of the door it gives me a few other options, take it off its hinges, spread it, find a bloody key inside etc. Anyone know if where to get hold of the key codes for an old Van Vault. It has the code V8902 on the side and on the old key, which the customer has lost! Its a NON curtain 7gauge 5 lever mortise lock mounted bolt side in the top of the lid. Tried try out keys, no go, I've ordered a new 7g 2 in 1 as mine are trimmed down and not lifting the levers full height.
I've tried wires but the lock is a long way back and the springs are strong so I'm getting way too much flex in the wires to lift the levers properly. Can drill and repair, welder on site, so no big issue but would be good to get in NDE if poss. Key to code would be even better you boys at the locksmith Brixton Hill try over lifting as might be the same as a sitex lock or old Aldridge’s 7 g 5 lever. Then just re key. If you don't have overlifters then try a pick wire putting tension on the bolt. Then use your try out keys going in the locking direction. Use your tension on and off and your try out keys up and down. Noticed on a warrant today a lock called all bees. 5 lever that it's the same as securefast non bs. Black. Oval gold bolt. Silver curtain. 7 gauge. Black case. Just a little tip. Noticed it as I always look at the mortice even if I didn't pick it. You will see lots of locks you haven’t seen or are the same as other locks.
Come across a another securefast copy today, black case 7 gauge shiny curtain except I tried a securefast key in the lock and would go in and did not turn, tried picking, no joy. Got the drill out, bolt shooting left so went for the stump, as I went through lock case, no stump in sight, just outside edge of pack, thought they were opened ended levers, put another hole 10mm over and bang on the money. They are oversized normal levers with false gates, like the union 2234. Paton stamped on face plate, if you can't find a supplier for these locks try the locksmith Brixton Hill shop, anyone else come across these? |
