Pick it? Well you guys at locksmith SE12 branch I don't think I’ve ever had a hard bullet lock that wasn't knackered and I’m crap at picking nowadays I’ve only done a few in the years I have been doing locks and not had any trouble before but these two just won’t do anything. Put your pointy pick in, push the pins down, and you should feel the pick stick as you push it all way in, wiggle up and down and should click open. That’s the way I did it as that’s the way I was shown but there has been no response from the locks.
I have been asked to change a cylinder or provide a key for the cylinder on a door to a cold room there is a red plastic button on the inside and on the outside is a big chunky lock that operates when handle is pulled does anybody know how remove the cylinder. I have removed 2 screws with an alen key but nothing seems to budge. Will try to impression a key service near me for cylinder as last resort I tried to upload photos but couldn’t. Where the panic release is inside there was a protective sleeve/pipe. This will slide out to reveal a hex nut. Socket set comes out and presto lock is off. I’m guessing it is a Fermond? This was a strage call out you gave me locksmiths SE12 I had this on the fridge trailer and same as you for the life of me couldn't figure it out. Anyhow found this lot euro coldlook at hanging bolt and that is what holds the lock case on, the euro is held by a retaining bolt in the rear not the side and it has a usual cam with a 'larger' cam on top.
The lock is a 6 pin nothing special. With the one I did it was more cost effective to replace the whole assembly including lock body. Indeed it is the CNS , this was GEGE first patented product and sold to duffells as a restricted but mostly to locksmiths who had their own key section and architectural ironmongers as master systems. The hard plate was only in 1 shape and was there to stop a normal restricted key of the same section being fully inserted (unless you had a file to remove the shoulder) . Pretty sure the patent has now expired which would mean you can offer locksmith cheap services on them. I was having a sort out and found a pfaffeinhain lock cylinder. Horrid keyway. I've seen an article by Han Fey about them and was wondering if anybody else has come up against them. Can’t seem to get any of my picks in, seems they have anti drill, anti bump pins and ball bearings. I'll chuck some photos up. Got a couple of keyed alike screw in with 1 key. If any one wants them give for picking etc. give me a shout. Just stripped another one down, nothing fancy. 6 pins all steel in the plug. 2 spool anti pick pins in brass, 3 steel driver pins and one brass. Can't see any ball bearing but it could be in the case.
Don't mind jobs like that guys so locksmith SE12 can send me them anytime, can't see why it won't drill in the usual fashion. The bent keyway is really tight so epg will be tricky, but reckon the better spp pickers out there will manage it. |
