A customer phoned our locksmith Sw11 shop and asked if I could open this safe. He changed Batteries, now it won't open and Bleeps 5 times. I know these open with strong magnets. But I haven’t got one. Can the code panel be taken off without damage?
Is the code panel Knackered when it bleeps 5 times? Can it be repaired or replaced? This safe doesn’t have an override! The solenoid is at an angle would this bounce still? Has anyone opened one before? If memory serves me right I read somewhere that five beeps it’s a keypad communication problem you may have to ring the suppliers for help. Have you tried the factory settings I haven't been there yet, just spoke to customer on phone. I'm there this afternoon. I've read the operating instructions online and your right. It does say com error. Phone sentry. I've also seen a video just now, showing someone tapping it with a Rubber mallet when it's on its side, then putting code in, and opening it. On the Writing on the video he says phone sentry for a new safe as its knackerd. Now?
I was going to try factory settings as this code can't be deleted. That codes on the back of owner’s handbook. Thanks again I’ll let you know after! There are some Sentry keyboxes that can't be bumped because the solenoid when the code is entered is lifted up not goes down. A couple of sentry fire Safes we at the locksmith Sw11 work shop have tried to open by the keypad to expose the circuit board. If you thought getting a couple of crocodile clips attached them some wires and a 30v battery and attach them to a couple of points on the circuit board it still will not unlock it. I tried that, this time that didn't work! After I got it open. I smelled the solenoid and it was burnt out. I couldn't bounce it either. Brute force opened it and it's sitting in the back of my van in two pieces! Nearly broke a knuckle doing it!
I remember when I first took my magnet out on a job. Job was opening a cheap digisafe hidden down a hole cut into a wall. I thought oh I'll try and see if it pulls the solenoid, completely forgetting safes are made of steel. Took me about 20 mins to get it back off. I remember a time where I used mine to open an electronic release on a communal door on warrant, casually popped it in my pocket and when walking back through the car park walked a bit too close to a reversing car. That took some explaining, the female driver thought I was trying to car jack her. Ripped the pocket straight off my locksmith Sw11 uniform. |
